The root cause was the presence of a non-printable character in data transmitted from the mainframe, which bypassed existing field-trimming controls. This anomaly disrupted data integrity within the trusted processing environment, creating a risk of downstream errors in automated workflows.
The issue was resolved by identifying the character and implementing enhanced validation to ensure such characters are removed before processing.
